HALLOWED (Unearthly #2)by CYNTHIA HAND416 pgs -hardcover-Expected Publication: January 17th, 2012 by HarperCollins***e-Edition provided by NetGalley***     I’m in awe.  There’s so much praise to give this novel, I don’t know where to start!  It’s difficult to find a series where the sequel is better than the first book, but author Cynthia Hand exceeded my expectations.  No matter how much I adore them, ‘Love-triangles’ make it hard not to choose sides. (Team Tucker/Team Christian, anyone?) And in Unearthlythe reader didn’t get to know Christian Prescott too well.  I’m glad he’s brought more into the story now.  I think the author wrote Clara’s struggle between the two boys beautifully, noting the conflict between her heart, and what she believes is ultimately her fate.     The most touching part of this story is the way the death of a supporting character is handled.  I felt my heart breaking for Clara, and wiped away a tear or two.   You can tell Hallowed was written thoughtfuly and flows so seamlessly I finished the book within 48 hours, and that’s only because it was during the week and I had to work.  Now, a few days after the book’s end, I’m still submerged in Clara’s world thinking about the scenes the author so vividly described.     Author Hand has grown so much as a writer from book one to book two in my opinion.  Almost all the unanswered questions from Unearthly are answered, and we are given more insight on lesser known characters, like Jeffrey, Clara’s brother, and Clara’s Father.I definitely reccomend this book, and if you have read Unearthly, you NEED to read this.  You won’t regret it!Obviously, FIVE out of FIVE Stars!
